The Practice originated in Romford, Essex in 1929 as L D Tomlinson and Partners. As a small practice, it handled various works, mainly domestic and small commercial. In the early 1970's the Practice, then known as J L Barnard & Partners, headed a consortium of practices with work being undertaken throughout the world. The Practice moved from Romford to Brentwood in 1966, to Rayleigh in 1994 and to our current office in Canewdon in 2017. A change of name to The Barnard Partnership in 1985 followed Graham Pearce's entry into partnership. Having long been shortened to just 'TBP' by client's and contractor's, a further name change to tbp architects followed the retirement of Ron Odden in 2013, after over 50 years with the practice.
We have a wide and varied experience of residential, commercial and industrial projects, with a particular expertise in the fields of Security, Space Planning, Office Layouts, Refurbishment and New Construction.
Joined the practice in 1982 after leaving University.
With the advent of the CDM Regulations, Graham further qualified as a Planning Supervisor, now referred to as CDM Principal Designer. He is also registered with the Architect's Registration Board.
